Looking to buy sustainable gifts for your loved ones this season?
Our upcoming South Osborne Holiday Market will feature a number of the items on Green Action Centre's "Sustainable Gift Giving" list.
Of course all of our vendors are amazing, but here are a few featured items & ideas to get you started...
1. Winter CSA Box - orders due Friday, December 14
Eating local in the winter just got easier! For the first time ever, Farm Fresh Food Hub is offering vegetable storage and winter feast boxes. These boxes feature spray-free and locally grown vegetables from some of our favourite producers such as Oak Valley Vegetables, Blue Lagoon, Wild Earth Farms, Natural Collective CSA plus extra treats by Flora and Farmer, Eadha Bread, Spring Creek Farm and Hutlet Family Farm.
Orders are open until December 14 and boxes can be picked up at the South Osborne Holiday Market from 11am - 3pm on Sunday December 16 (725 Kylemore Ave). Click here to learn more.
2. Experiential Gift
Invite your loved one to enjoy the market with you, enjoy some crepes together at our pop-up brunch & let them pick out something of their choice from one of our 30+ vendors! With live music, door prizes & more, we're certain this will be an experience to remember!
Grab a plant from Sage Garden Herbs and pair it with a planter from Lot.15 Creative 🌱
4. A cozy combination
Helpful Beans chocolate, tea from Northstar Tea Co., a hand-crafted wood wick candle by Mysa Candles or Burwalde Juice's delicious apple cider. These are just a few ideas for what could be included in a cozy, winter-themed gift package!
5. For the foodie in your life
Come try samples of 1882 fruit based hot sauce, Burch Tree's flavoured salts or Theresa's Sourdough Noodles! These would all make great gifts, especially when paired with one of GDWI's custom made charcuterie boards. Once again, these are just a few of our amazing vendors that cater to that local lovin' foodie you're shopping for.
6. For the little one in your life
We've got adorable gifts for the little ones, too. Our top recommendations: hand-knitted booties from Third Sister shop, or a sassy silk-screened bib from Sew Dandee.
